Fact based evidence in support of the Presidents policies for our military, budget, and social issues

Elections matter because to "not be political" is to empower those who will smile our very existence away. To "not be political" is to willingly allow tireless permanent anti-family laws to remain. To "not be political" is to say you are not worthy or smart enough to have a voice of reason or sound judgment. To "not be political" is in fact the most political of all.

A list of every bill the president has passed since taking office, and who it helped: http://whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com/

Attached documents
Information about Planned Parenthood and Title X funding.
The Class War chart shows what is being cut, and where the money could come from. On the left you have the "shared sacrifices" and "painful cuts" that the Republicans claim we must make to get our fiscal house in order.  On the right, you can plainly see WHY these cuts are "necessary."  The reason?  Because we already gave away all that money to America's wealthiest individuals and corporations. Wonderful article with it: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/03/09/954301/-The-Must-See-Chart-%28This-Is-What-Class-War-Looks-Like%29
The second chart, Class War with Defense Spending, shows our defense-related expenditures.

Planned Parenthood

"Abortion is just one of many procedures, and the law bars Planned Parenthood from using tax money for it." (1)

"The organization said it receives $363 million in federal funds, getting its money from both the Title X program and Medicaid. Title X provides grants for family planning and related health services under a law signed by Republican President Richard M. Nixon in December 1970.

Of the Title X money, Planned Parenthood gets about $70 million, some 25 percent of the $317 million in Title X spending. The organization's annual budget is $1.1 billion and includes individual donations.
Federal law bars Planned Parenthood from using tax dollars for abortion. In 1976, three years after the landmark Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion, Congress passed the Hyde Amendment which bars the use of taxpayer funds for abortion except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother." (1)
With the budget that was passed this week, "Given that Mr. Boehner made this offer, and the White House actually ended up agreeing to more cuts than he proposed..." (2)

"only three percent of Planned Parenthood's activities are abortion related" (3)

Military

You'll notice in reference 4 it says "Non-defense discretionary spending". (4)

Military spending under Obama INCREASED last year: "As a percentage of GDP, U.S. military spending has increased from 3.1% in 2001 to 4.8% last year." (
6)

"President Obama signed the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act which includes a 3.4 percent pay increase for all servicemembers. This raise is .5 percent lower than the 2009 military pay increase. However, considering current economic conditions this may prove to be a generous increase when compared to the civilian wage rates." (
10)

BAH will be left untouched, despite the fact that rent DECREASED. (11)

"BAS has increased for 2011. " (
12)

"Due to the continuing recession and subsequent reduction in the cost-of-living for many areas" (13)

From 2010 budge: "President Barack Obama is proposing a 2.9 percent military pay raise effective Jan. 1, 2010, a figure that would match, but not exceed, average private-sector wage growth." (
14)

2011 Budget Notice it says Obama signed...: "On January 7, 2011, President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2011 (H.R. 6523) that provides a 1.4% increase for military pay, effective January 1, 2011. The raise should be noticed in January's first pay check." (15)

Notice this says a BIPARTISAN commission, meaning Democrats and Republicans: "On November 10, 2010, President Obama's bipartisan commission on reducing the national debt recommended, amount other things, a freeze of non-combat military pay and bonuses for three years at 2011 levels - the raise amount for 2011 has yet to be determined, but a number of congressmen have gone on record to say that the budget deficit will not be fixed on the backs of our service members when there are so many other places to cut. We'll see." (15)

Obama was the leading force behind the New G.I. Bill that was passed in 2009. Michelle pushed him for that after visiting with so many military families on bases throughout the country. This is the same G.I. Bill John McCain voted against.

This article shows the process of the budget proposals that called for the increase in military pay and the freeze, along with the fact that both Democratic congresses voted to forgo their cost of living increases will increasing that of the militaries. (

Budget

Wonderful article about the fact that 2/3 of US Corporations pay ZERO federal taxes
http://www.alternet.org/story/150387/2_3rds_of_us_corporations_pay_zero_federal_taxes:_us_uncut_movement_builds_to_make_them_pay_up?page=1

"$39 billion less than was budgeted for 2010, $79 billion less than he originally requested. Non-defense discretionary spending — basically, everything from roads and bridges to schools and innumerable programs for the poor — has been slashed." (
4)

"House Budget Chair Paul Ryan has already put forward proposals to turn Medicare into vouchers that funnel money to private insurance companies, turn Medicaid and Food Stamps into block grants that give states discretion to shift them to the non-poor, and give even more big tax cuts to the rich." (4)

" in the 1940s, corporations paid 43 percent of all the federal income taxes collected in this country. In the 1950s, they picked up the tab for 39 percent. But by the time the 1990s rolled around, corporations were paying just 18.9 percent of federal income taxes, and they forked over the same figure in the first decade of this century. We – working people – paid the difference." (5)

"U.S.-based multinationals jettisoned a net total of 1.9 million workers here at home while creating 2.3 million net jobs overseas." (5)

We are NOT broke: "If corporations and households with $1 million income paid at the same levels they did in 1961, the Treasury would collect an additional $716 billion a year – or $7 trillion over a decade." (7)

"General Electric has reported over $26 billion in profits, yet paid not one penny in U.S. taxes." (
7)

Four straightforward steps that would bring in $400 billion in profits every year, without having to cut education, social services, and safety resources. (
8)

This article shows that you and I should be on the same page in regards to the issues facing our nation. It's not about right (you) verses left (me) but about us verses corporations. The right/left paradigm no longer exists. (
